Whenever I add something new to my wardrobe, I like to make sure that it works with several pieces I already have. I love to mix and match and style things in different ways because it’s the best way to stretch your budget.
I usually steer clear from purchasing shorts, because I have a hard time finding ones that fit right, and I can’t bring myself to purchase shorts just to get them altered. However, when I do find a pair of shorts that work, they usually have some special characteristic that makes them stand out. With these shorts, I’d say it’s the high waist and super cute bow!
I recently purchased these front tie shorts from JCrew. They are high waisted shorts and a little longer than your typical chino. These shorts are cotton, but the look mimics linen, so I was a little nervous that they would wrinkle easily. I hate wrinkles, so I usually avoid linen unless I want that purposeful wrinkly look.
The neutral color of these shorts go perfectly with most blouses I already own. The eyelet blouse I have on is a few years old, but I found some other really cute blouses like this one-should ruffle blouse, scalloped cropped top, and eyelet button-up blouse. I also wore these shorts (love these floral ones) in an earlier post here with this ruffle bodysuit. What’s your favorite way to style shorts?
