A simple jersey dress is something that you’ll reach for again and again when packing for a warm weather destination or weekend getaway. This jersey dress meets all of my travel dreams with its elastic waistline, lightweight fabric and side ties. It only comes in grey, which I love for an everyday dress. The one I’m wearing sold out fast, but I found a few similar options here, here and here.
Whether I’m traveling or spending time around town, I find a simple dress to be the most effortless and comfortable option. This past weekend pretty cool, so we carved out time to be outside once the weather cooled down. We headed to Brown’s Island for an afternoon picnic, and this one was much more casual than the one we had the other week.
We found the perfect shaded spot that faced the canal and a gorgeous row of white and pink crepe myrtles. There were some kids swinging off ropes and doing some impressive flips into the river. I was almost tempted to jump in myself since it was so hot! This pink dress would be perfect for afternoon outings around town!
Before we headed back home, we stopped by Whisk to pick up a sweet treat and couldn’t resist their chocolate croissants. The bakery is small and quaint, but their pastries never disappoint. We past my favorite coffee shop, Lamplighter, and had to stop in for some coffee. I’ve started to drink more almond milk instead of regular milk, so I ordered a mocha almond milk latte. They have the best mocha and lavender lattes around. Definitely check them out if you haven’t already!
Aside from the elastic waistline, I love the small cut-outs on the side. The bow ties cover most of the opening, but it’s a nice detail to contrast the simplicity of the dress. This striped dress is a great alternative, and I love the layered fabric on this dress. And both are under $20!
