If you read this earlier post about my fall bucket list, then you know apple picking has been on my list for a while now. Well, we finally made it to Charlottesville last weekend when we stayed at the Graduate. This was the perfect time to go apple picking and luckily, Carter Mountain still had plenty of apples to pick. I love coming here this time of year. The air is crisp, the leaves have changed colors, and the views are amazing.
We love taking leisurely walks while we comb through fields of apples just to find the perfect ones to take home. I always say I’ll make an apple pie, but we usually end up eating the apples dipped in peanut butter. Let’s see if I can resist the urge to eat them all, so we can make that apple pie!
Carter Mountain is only an hour away from us, but we don’t visit nearly as much as I’d like. Although, we did pick some peaches after one of our hikes last summer.
It was a bit chilly, so I wore flannel shirt (similar here and here) and wool cardigan (it’s currently on sale). I stayed pretty warm until the wind started blowing, but luckily, I had my olive parka with me. The jacket is so popular and warm, it’s been restocked for winter (as seen here and here). I paired my cardigan with these Frye look-a-likes from Target. I’ve had mine for about 6 years.
