White crop top and favorite ice cream

Hi guys! My name’s Amanda Arnold, and I’m so glad you stopped by The Tailored Olive! My style is a little eclectic—it’s feminine with a dash of prep and hint of modern flare! Whether it’s a new look, recipe, or home project, my goal is that you find something that inspires you here!

How did you get into blogging?
I thought about starting a fashion blog for several years, and I finally made the plunge in 2016. I’ve met some amazing bloggers and have had the opportunity to work with some of my favorite brands like Banana Republic, Jord Wood Watches, and Baublebar to name a few.

I spent a lot of time watching Youtube videos— learning how to build a website, how to use a DLR camera, and how to edit photos using Lightroom. I always wanted to learn photography, so this was a great time to start!

What camera do you use and who takes your pictures?
I use a Nikon 3200 DSLR with my 50MM lens. I always shoot in manual mode and am so lucky to have my family around to help. My youngest sister and mom take all my photos.

How tall are you?
I’m 5’2 and a half! That half inch makes all the difference, so I never leave it out.

What are your favorite brands and where do you like to shop?
I always look for brands that carry petite or small sizes. Some of my favorite places to shop include: Jcrew, Madewell, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Nordstrom and H&M.

What are your top 3 favorite posts?
A few months ago, I started a new series called Table Talk Tuesday, and this is probably my favorite post from the series. I also really love this home decor post on the 5 easiest house plants and this fashion post here.

What did you study in school?
I majored in marketing and minored in graphic design. I recently wrote this post on choosing the right college major.

Is your hair naturally curly?
Yes, it is! When I was younger, I had a love-hate relationship with my hair but have came to love my curls. I get lots of questions about my hair and have been thinking about putting together a tutorial for you all!

Where do you find your inspiration?
I try to find inspiration in everything around me. I love this quote by Coco Chanel, “fashion is not something that exists only in dresses. Fashion is in the sky and in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live and what is happening around us.”
